We consider a work any text with an independent circulation. To decide whether a work record should be created for a particular text, or whether it should be a Narrative Unit or a text part of another work, please read Definition of Works and Narrative Units.

Please consider carefully whether any information should be encoded in the work record, or in the record of a manuscript containing this work. Any information pertaining only to a specific manuscript, not to the work as a whole, should be added to the record of this manuscript.
