General description
This hymn is ascribed to John Chrysostom. The hymn itself begins with ተፈሥሒ፡ ኦእግዝእትነ፡ ማርያም፡, which is repeated after each stanza. In most manuscripts it is preceded by a preamble varying in structure and length, which begins with እሰግድ፡ ለኪ፡ ወእዌድሰኪ፡ ኦእግዝእትየ፡ ማርያም፡.
