Origin
18th century (dating on palaeographic grounds) . The manuscript has been dated to the end of the 18th/beginning of the 19th century by C. Conti Rossini, and to the 18th/19th century by M. Chaîne; a somewhat earlier period can be considered on palaeographical grounds (Hand 2). The name of the original commissioner at the end of the text on check the viewerfol. has been erased, the name Zawalda Māryām owner has been added over the erasure in a secondary later hand.
Provenance
The manuscript was aquired by Antoine d'Abbadie owner sometime between 1840 and 1848.
Acquisition
The manuscript entered the Bibliothèque nationale de France↗ in 1902.

Die Zahl derer, die für den Bau des Turms versammelt wurden, waren 72 Hauptleute. Unter ihnen waren von den Nachkommen Sems 25 Mann. Diese wohnten vom Euphrat bis Syrien und bis zum östlichen Randbereich. Zu ihnen gehören die Syrer, die Gebiete von Rabiʿa, die Insel Waḥarāmqā, die Chaldäer - das sind die Leute von Babylon, Persien, Khorasan, Feryā, Sind, Indien, Jemen, Ṭayǝf, Tamāmā sowie zwei Meere und die Araber. Diejenigen, die mit Buchstaben zu schreiben wissen, sind acht: Hebräer, Śǝyanāwi, Perser, Inder, Chaldäer, Sini, Ḫāmāzi und Araber. An Gewässern haben sie den Euphrat und den Strom Balaka.
