Translated in French in . C. Conti Rossini suggests in his catalogue that ኢዮስያስ፡ ንጉሥ፡ should be identified with King ʾIyoʾas I , thus dating the manuscript to his reign 1755-1769 (the catalogue transcribes the date with a mistake). M. Chaîne equates the year 61 (transcribed wrongly, instead of 64) to 7261 from the Creation of the World, that is 1769 CE, and refers to the same ʾIyoʾas I . According to an interpretation proposed in , the data in the colophon were taken over from an old manuscript. The year 64 should be counted as the year of mercy in a 532-year cycle and is equal to 1487/1488 CE, ʾIyosyās is the royal name of the 15th-century King ʾƎskǝndǝr , አባ፡ ይስሐቅ፡ ጳጳስ should be identified with Metropolitan Yǝsḥaq (II) (for the discussion about the colophon cp. also ).
