Origin
Between 1840 and 1848 (internal-date) . The manuscript was copied by Antoine d'Abbadie owner sometime between 1840 and 1848, by three scribes (two of them being Walda Gabrǝʾel scribe and Walda Kidān scribe ).

According to A. d'Abbadie, this copy of the work was made for him from a manuscript which belonged to daǧǧāč Goššu . A. d'Abbadie later collated both and corrected the copy.Colophon

The translators' colophon mentions three dates which do not coincide, 7015 according to the Era of the World (=1523 CE), 1500 from the birth of Christ, and 1249 according to the Era of the Martyrs (=1533 CE).

Made for A. d'Abbadie, according to his own words, upon the advice of Ethiopians. I. Guidi in his publication provided only those poems which are on check the viewerfols 107ra–111vc . The poems from check the viewerfols 55rb–56vc (in the midst of the Amharic Explications by Walda Rufāʾel) were obviously overlooked, by A. d' Abbadie, I.
