Origin
Original Location: Qalāqǝl Māryām Ṣǝyon↗
Za-Manfas Qǝddus is the baptismal name of daǧǧāzmāč Subagadis or Sabāgādis , the ruler of Tǝgray in 1822-31. The replacement of the name of the original donors by that of his name hints that the Ms. was written not later than in the early 19th century.Provenance
The names of the original donors have been erased throughout the Ms. and replaced with Za-Manfas Qǝddus , often together with the names of his mother Walatta Ṣǝyon, his father Walda Lǝʿul and Gabra Sāmuʾel (in red, until check the viewer109vc ), written in a secondary hand. In some cases, the original names have been preserved in supplication formulas: Hǝryaqos on check the viewer12va , Zenā Gabrǝʾel check the viewer204vb-212rb , 219vb-227va, and Takla Hāymānot check the viewer213vb-218vc .
