notAfter: 1531} According to a note on check the viewerfol. the manuscript was produced in the 23rd year of Lǝbna Dǝngǝl and the "183rd year of Mercy" (= cycle 3 of the Era of the martyrs), that agree with each other correspond to the year 1530 to 1531 which is also in agreement with the palaeography. Since this note was written most on a bifolium, that was probably attached later, it is nevertheless not certain, whether it is precisely correct.

The explicit contains a twofold date and a name of a scribe. Alas the date is not complete, because in several instances numerals have been intentionally erased, but can according to Marrassini 1987a be reconstructed to the year 23 of the reign of Lǝbna Dǝngǝl and the year 183, the two dates that both give the year 1530 as date of production of the manuscript. Whether the agency of the scribe Zarʾa Lǝʿul scribe ? on the other hand relates to the entire manuscript or yet alone to the last three folios is not clear as well. Since the last bifolium is written with less care and with another pen, it may have been written by another hand and represent a later addition. According to Marrassini 1987a the list as far as the Kings of Aksum are concerned, corresponds to King list C (CAe 3855) and King list A (CAe 3853) according to Conti Rossinis categorization in Conti Rossini 1909a.

1500-1599 Of the same period as Hand 1. The name of the scribe priest Zarʾa Lǝʿul scribe ? is mentioned on . Marrassini 1987a, considers to have beeen written in a different, more recent hand with (with less care, without any rubrication, using a pen with narrow nib, on a bifolium that was attached later to the codex). However, both hands are very similar; it cannot be excluded that both belong to the same scribe.
