Origin
1750-1799 (dating on palaeographic grounds) The manuscript can be dated palaeographically to the second half of the eighteenth century. A single mention of ንጉሥነ፡ […]ommission by ያሱ፡ on check the viewerfol. 3r might point to the reign of ʾIyāsu III as the period of production.
Provenance
The manuscript had very probably belonged to a church in the Gondar↗ area, possibly Gabrǝʾel↗ , from where it was taken by Tewodros II and brought to Madḫāne ʿĀlam↗ . It was then looted by the British Napier expedition in 1868.
