Provenance
The manuscript had very probably belonged to a church in the Gondar↗ area, from where it was taken by Tewodros II and brought to Madḫāne ʿĀlam↗ . It was then looted by the British Napier expedition in 1868.

ምዕራፍ፡ መልአ፡ ጽሒፈ፡ ዝንቱ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ቀኖና፡ . . . . .ommission by በ፲፻፷ወ፬ዓመተ፡ ሰማዕታት፡ ንጹሓን ። ትንብልናሆሙ፡ ተሃሉ፡ ምስለ፡ ፍቁሮሙ፡ ሕዝቅያስ፡ ወፍቅርቶሙ፡ ወለተ፡ ሩፋኤል፡ ወምስለ፡ ንጉሥነ፡ ቴዎፍሎስ፡ ለዓለመ፡ ዓለም፡ አሜን። ለቀዳማይ፡ ዕለት፡ ዘወርኃ፡ ጅማድ፡ ካልእ፡ በ፻ወ፵ወ፰። (!) ወለእግዚእነ፡ አኰቴት፡ እስከ፡ ለዓለመ፡ ዓለም። ወዘአዕለዋ፡ ሕፁፅ፡ ወኃጥእ፡ . . . . .ommission by
The colophone states that the manuscript was written for Ḥǝzqǝyās and his wife Walatta Rufāʾel during the reign of emperor Tewoflos .
