Astronomical treatise
Daria Elagina
Titles
- Astronomical treatiseen
- Cosmological treatiseen
General description
A cosmological treatise of a European provenance, possibly translated from a Latin textbook on astronomy by a Jesuit missionary in Ethiopia in the first half of the 17th century (). The text was believed to be transmitted only in one manuscript () employed in all three existing editions, however, Daria Elagina identified one further witness (London, British Library, BL Oriental 816). A preliminary comparison of the witnesses show some divergencies in readings.
