He was born at Wärrä Himäno↗ between1847-1850.
Period of Activity
He was an important ruler of Walloo↗ and the entire northern Ethiopia. He was born Muslim and later converted to Christianity in 1878, at the council of Boru Meda↗ and assumed the baptismal name Mikaʾel. He was in alliance with ʾaṣe Yoḥannǝs IV↗ until his death in 1889 at the battle of መተማ፡↗ . However, after the death of ʾaṣe Yoḥannǝs IV↗ , he declared his submission to Mǝnilǝk↗ to whom he was loyal till the end of his rule. He was one of the military commanders of the battle of ʿĀdwā↗
Death
He was killed at the battle of Sägäle↗ in 1916.
