Birth
He was born in ʾAddis ʾAbabā↗ in 1923.
Period of Activity
He was the third child of ? Ḫāyla Śǝllāse I↗ and ? Manan ʾAsfāw↗ . He received his education at St Christopher's school, Bath↗ , Wellington College and Gordonstoun, while staying with his father in exile during the Italian occupation. After the liberation in 1941, he was given the title ? which made him the governor general of the large province of Harärge↗ . In 1944, he became governor of the town but spent most of the time at the Emperor's court in ʾAddis ʾAbabā↗ . In 1946, he married Sara Gǝzaw↗ with whom he had five sons. He was the favourite son of the Emperor and that his father preferred the succession to be passed to him rather than to his elder brother ʾAsfā Wasan Ḫāyla Śǝllāse↗ . Respected as a good officer serving in the air force and an imaginative bussinessman.
Death
He died in ʾAddis ʾAbabā↗ in 1957.
