M. Émile Delorme, a French foreign trade advisor, acquired manuscripts on a trip to Ethiopia in 1911, mostly through the help of the court interpreter Walda Māryām . His collection, partly described by Sylvain Grébaut , later became dispersed, with several of his manuscripts entering the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana↗ and Bibliothèque nationale de France↗ .
