This manuscript, one of the earliest known Tigrinya manuscripts, was produced possibly for Samuel Gobat patron , see Rüppell 1840. It was bought by Eduard Rüppell between 1831 and 1834 in Ethiopia↗ and given by him after his return to the Stadtbibliothek Frankfurt↗ . While being transported from the Soviet to the American occupation zone on the 3rd July 1945, it fell from a truck, and remained lost in the following decades. It was returned in 1979 to the Landesbibliothek Coburg and in 1980 finally restituted to the Universitätsbibliothek Johann Christian Senckenberg↗ . See also Tönnies 2012.
