Condition
The reddish-brown tooled leather cover is missing; only turn-ins are preserved. Remains of the pastedowns (?) are visible on the inner faces of both boards. The original sewing has been damaged and repaired. Half of the tailband is missing. A hole of a square shape has been cut out on check the viewer71 , with a loss of text. check the viewer72 is reinforced with a parchment strip (?). Holes are amended on check the viewer57 , 132, 139, 155, 164.
Binding
Two wooden boards covered with brown leather (quarter cover); reddish-brown tooled leather cover is missing (only turn-ins are preserved); textile inlays. Remains of pastedowns are visible on the inner sides of both boards. Three pairs of sewing stations.
Binding decoration
Two pairs of chains of endband stitches or their traces at the spine cover Holes or tears visible in the centrefold of the quires, close to the head and tail of the codex. Quire XVI is reinforced by a parchment guard in the centrefold.
