Origin
Original Location: Koholo Yoḥannǝs Dabra Betel / KY↗
Second half of the 18th cent. (?)Provenance
The name of the original owner (Walatta <...>) has been erased from the concluding supplication of Text XXIII. The handwritten note in English "New testament Pauline" in the upper margin of check the viewer4rb (in black fountain pen) and the number 228 written upside down on check the viewer3v indicate that the book was most probably taken as booty from Mäqdäla Madḫāne ʿĀlam (founded by Tewodros II, r. 1855-68). Possibly the note ሐዲሳት፡ ዘቅዱስ፡ ዮሐንስ in the upper margin of check the viewer4ra (s. Additio 1) was written over an (partly) erased ownership note of the church Mäqdäla Madḫāne ʿĀlam. According to Additio 2, Tasfā Śǝllāse was previously (?) an owner of the Ms.
