The colophon mentions the date 30 Gǝnbot, the year of mercy 1885, during the time of the Evangelist Matthew (= 6 June 1893 A.D.).Provenance
According to the colophon and Additio 1, daǧǧāzmāč Ḍaḥaya Lǝdā donor is the donor. In the colophon, his relatives are also mentioned: his wife Walatta Giyorgis, his father Gabra ʾAmlāk (s. also Additio 2), his mother Walatta Takla Hāymānot and priest Gabra Giyorgis. The name of Ḍaḥaya Lǝdā donor a few times together with his wife, is present in the supplication formulas throughout the Ms. In several supplication formulas, the names of other individuals have been added interlineally in a secondary hand, and later erased.

The sewing is slightly damaged. The original inlays were possibly substituted for new ones. Many fols. are affected by humidity.

Two wooden boards covered with reddish-brown tooled leather; textile inlays. Two pairs of sewing stations.

Mediocre hand.The handwriting is characterized by right-sloping letters, sometimes with angular shape (e.g. ደ, የ) and short hairlines at the top (e.g. መ, በ, ወ, የ). The words እግዚአብሔር and እግዚእ are usually written with ligature between ግ and ዚ.
Ink: Black; red (faded vermillion; brilliant crimson [?] for the individual names written interlineally)
Rubrication: Holy names; the names of the Trinity; the names of the protagonists; the name of the scribe; the name of the donor and of his relatives; the names of other individuals written interlineally.
