Origin
Original Location: ʿĀddigrāt Dabra Mankǝrāt Qǝddus Qirqos↗
Late 19th - 20th century (?). Despite the mention of Za-Manfas Qǝddus as the donor (the baptismal name of daǧǧāzmāč Sabāgādis , 1770-1831) and the information in the colophon, the Ms. is palaeographically datable only to a much posterior period, and is probably a copy of a book which was indeed commissioned and donated by Za-Manfas Qǝddus/ Subagadis.Provenance
Za-Manfas Qǝddus and his mother Walatta Ṣǝyon are mentioned in supplication formulas and in the colophon. Other persons mentioned are Za-Manfas Qǝddus' son Walda Mikāʾel (e.g., check the viewer42vc , check the viewer44vbc , check the viewer50rb ), his father Walda Lǝʿul and Walatta Śǝllāse (e.g., check the viewer36va , 54ra, 85ra). All names were added in a secondary hand.

Translation English: In the year of the world 7256, in the ninth year of the death of our king Za-Manfas Qǝddus, with his father Walda Lǝʿul and his mother, our Queen, Walatta Ṣǝyon. His regnal name was Za-Manfas. May His grace be upon them and upon us. Amen.
Za-Manfas Qǝddus is the baptismal name of daǧǧāzmāč Sabāgādis (1770-1831), but the year of the world 7256 corresponds to 1764 A.D. (s. Chaîne 1925) and is probably mistaken. The note is recent; the scribe used a recent ink (pink) and tried to imitate certain features of the handwriting of the main text (e.g., the form of the characters ፅ, ዕ, መ and ሠ). Possibly, he might have copied colophon that had been in column b (now scratched out).
check the viewerFols 10rc–118rb Taʾammǝra ʾIyasus “Miracles of Jesus”: 41 (?) miracles (CAe 2382 Miracles) Four miracles are numbered (3th-6th).

Hand 2
Script: Ethiopic
The involvement of more than one scribe cannot be excluded. The handwriting changes from careful and neat at the very beginning to mediocre (cp. check the viewer5r and check the viewer34r ). Thereafter it appears irregular throughout the Ms. due to varying density of ruling lines and shapes of the letters (cp. quires II-III, V-VI, VI-VII, VII-VIII), mostly from quire to quire, but also within quires: - the letters are irregularly slanted (from upright and slightly right sloping to slightly left sloping) - the size of the letters differs, cp. check the viewer32v-33r (quires V-VI), 40v-41r (VI-VII), or check the viewer68r and 76v - the thickness of the letters' elements differs, cp. check the viewer40v-41r (quire VI-VII) - space between letters significantly differs (broadly spaced, e.g., check the viewer25v , 76v against narrowly spaced, e.g., check the viewer33r , 46v, 77r) A few distinctive features of the handwriting are discernible throughout the Ms.: - the right loop of ሠ (in all vowel orders) is of very small size - the upper horizontal stroke of መ is always finely and uniformly curved, the loops reach the ruling line - the letters ፅ and ዕ are usually cone-shaped, downward oriented.Check for additional bibliography
