Period of Activity
He was a Gondarine king from 1711 to 1716. Prior to being crowned, Yosṭos acted as a kingmaker. He was devoted to hunting, which he did every year of his reign. Blinding was a favoured punishment for his enemies. A revolt broke out in the court which he could not prevent. A number of notables were killed, and the son of ʾaṣe role: title ʾIyāsu the Great , Dāwit III , was bought from Wahni ʾAmbā↗ . Dāwit III was proclaimed king and ʾaṣe role: title Yosṭos pronounced dead.
