Origin
Provenance
The manuscript had very probably belonged to a church in the Gondar↗ area, from where it was taken by Tewodros II and brought to Madḫāne ʿĀlam↗ . It was then looted by the British Napier expedition in 1868.

Explicit (Gǝʿǝz ):ይቤ፡ ጸሐፊሁ፡ ቂርቆስ፡ ዘርኩስ፡ በኃጥያቱ። ወርቱዕ፡ በሃይማኖቱ፡ ፩ውእቱ፡ ለተክለ፡ ሃይማኖት፡ እመርዔቱ። ስርየተ፡ አበሳ፡ ሰአሉ፡ ሎቱ። እለ፡ አንበብክምዎ፡ ለዝንቱ። ለዓለመ፡ ዓለም፡ አሜን። ለዘጸሐፎ፡ ወለዘአጽሐፎ፡ ወለዘአንበቦ፡ ወለዘተርጐሞ፡ ወለዘሰምዓ፡ ቃላቶ። ለኲልነ፡ ኅቡረ፡ በኢያስትቶ። እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘነአኲቶ። ይጸግወነ፡ ሣህሎ፡ ወምሕረቶ። ወያውርስነ፡ መንግሥቶ። በእንተ፡ ማርያም፡ ኮነት፡ ወላዲቶ። ወበእንተ፡ ኲሎሙ፡ ቅዱሳን፡ እለ፡ ፈጸሙ፡ ሥምረቶ። ወለተክለ፡ ሃይማኖት፡ አቡነ፡ ይክፍለነ፡ መክፈልቶ፡ ወርስቶ። ወይክድነነ፡ ሞገሶ፡ ወአሦቶ። ወይቀጥቅጥ፡ ታሕተ፡ እገሪሁ፡ ሠይጣነ፡ ወሠራዊቶ፡ ለገብረ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ምናሴ፡ ወያዕርፉ፡ ለነፍሰ፡ ንጉሥነ፡ ኢያሱ፡ ለዓለመ፡ ዓለም፡ አሜን፡ ወአሜን፡ ለይኩን፡ ለይኩን። check the viewerfol. 133v According to the explicit, the MS was written by one Qirqos , for one Mǝnāse , in the reign of King ʾIyāsu II
