Origin
Provenance
The manuscript had very probably belonged to a church in the Gondar↗ area, from where it was taken by Tewodros II and brought to Madḫāne ʿĀlam↗ . It was then looted by the British Napier expedition in 1868.

The colophon states that the text was translated from Arabic into Gǝʿǝz during the reign of King Galāwdewos under his personal order in 1552.

The colophon of this manuscript indicates that it was copied during the reign of King ʾIyāsu II , during the term of a metropolitan Yoḥannǝs III , commissioned by a certain Tewodros . .
