The shelfmark ( la ) Aeth. 23 and ( la ) Aethiop. 23 are written in pale black ink at the bottom of the leaf and on the sheet glued to the top the leaf.

Number of the sections are written in small script in black or red ink, in the margin. Liturgical directives are inserted either within the text or in the upper margin. They are accompanied by the words ( gez ) ዝየ፡ or ( gez ) ቍም፡, written in abbreviated form and indicating the beginning of the sections.
