History
history: Gadām. The number of monks might be very small today, but in the past there was a strong monastic community. The manuscripts are stored in the treasury which seems to have been formerly used as rock-hewn church. A built facade nearby belongs to another rock-hewn chruch, the main church of the site. From the slope, the people point to a place on the plain below which is said to be the birth place of King Yoḥannǝs IV↗
