He was a monk of the monastery of Magʷinā↗ in northern Gondar↗ and ʾǝč̣č̣age role: title ↗ of Dabra Libānos↗ between 1725-1728. He succceeded ʾƎdā Krǝstos↗ as the head of Magʷinā↗ in1706, which was an important stronghold of the Unionist movement at a time of great instability, caused by the doctrinal controversies between the Qǝbāt party and the Tawāḥǝdo supporters. He also played his role in reconciling ʾaṣe role: title Takla Hāymānot I↗ with ʾaṣe role: title ʾIyāsu I↗ in 1706. He was appointed as the 34th ʾǝč̣č̣age role: title ↗ of Dabra Libānos↗ in 1725. But he was deposed three years later in 1728.
