Origin

The date of book one (fols 1r–103v,

) is somewhere in the range of 1913–1916, during the reign of Iyasu (V, 1913–16, 31v, ), King Mǝnilǝk (1889–1913, 85r, 85v, ) is also mentioned, as are Archbishop Peṭros (IV, 1881–1921, 53v, ), Abba Yoḥannǝs (53v, 55r, [unclear, possibly referring to the name of Archbishop Peṭros IV before taking his official title]), and Bishop Marqos (unknown, 55r ). The date of book two (fols 104r–236v, ) is 1889–1913, during the reign of King Mǝnilǝk (1889–1913, 85r, 85v, 207v, ), with the mention of Archbishop Peṭros (IV, 1881–1921, 53v, 207r, ), and Metropolitan Qerǝlos (Cyril V, 1875–1927, 204r, 207r ).
