He was the ruler of Šawā↗ and contemporary of ʾIyāsu I↗ . Nagāśi Krǝstos↗ is traditionally considered as the founder of the Šāwān dynasty. He established his base at ʾAngāčā↗ and started to condcut a campaign in the neigbouring Oromo↗ land. He also fought the Oromo↗ of Yaǧǧu↗ and Wallo↗ . By the end of the 17th century, he emerged as the most important ʾAmharā↗ chief of the area.

He died in Gondar↗ .
