He was a saintly monk of the 17th century active during the reign of ʾaṣe role: title Fāsiladas↗ . He is credited with the foundation of the monastery of ʾƎndā ʾAbuna Lǝbdǝyos↗ . He is thus believed to have been involved in the re-establishment of Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity after the conversion of ʾaṣe role: title Susǝnyos↗ to Catholicism.Lǝbdǝyos↗ is also considered to be the founder of the monastery of ʾƎndā ʾAbbā Ṭaʿǝma Krǝstos↗ of Wāldǝbbā↗ , where a cross that is believed to have belonged to Lǝbdǝyos↗ is venerated.
