According to Additio 2, the main production unit was donated in the time of King King Lǝbna Dǝngǝl (r. 1508-1540). Quires III, V-XXVIII, XXXIV date to the first half of the 16th cent. Quires IV, XXIX-XXXIII date to the 18th cent. Quires I and II date to a more recent time (19th cent.?). check the viewer252 (with the miniature) originates from an old codex (15th cent.?).Provenance
According to Additio 2, Gabra Manfas Qǝddus donated the Ms. to Dabra Dāmmo; he is also mentioned on check the viewer83rb , 215vb (Text III-4b, hand d, 16th century).
ʾAbuna Bǝʾǝse ʾƎgziʾabǝḥer is mentioned as the commissioner in the concluding supplication formula of Text III-4a; furthermore, his name is written throughout Texts III-2 and III-4a (hand e, 18th century).

The back board is broken and crudely repaired. The leather cover is perforated. The Ms. was resewn. Tears carefully amended on fols. 5, 68, 108, 148, 164.

Two wooden boards (the back board is broken and crudely repaired) covered with reddish-brown leather (quarter cover). Two pairs of sewing stations.
Binding decoration
Two pairs of chains of endband stitches at the spine cover. Quires XII, XIV and XXXIV are reinforced with parchment guards.

Script: Ethiopic
Hand e: neat and regular. The handwriting is characterized by finely shaped, slender and slightly right-sloping letters. Contrary to hand d, the letter መ in all vowel orders is written with the loops separated. The letters ፈ and ረ in all vowel orders and ሥ are formed with a long, diagonal stroke. The vowel marker of ስ is notably long.
Ink: Black, red (vivid red).
