He was one of the illustrious early abbots of Dabra Ḥayq ʾƎsṭifānos↗ succeeded Zaʾiyasus↗ in around 1299. He lived in the vital period of King ʾAmda Ṣǝyon I↗ . He was very close to the King and the King ʾAmda Ṣǝyon I↗ affectionately called him "my Father". He was the owner of the manuscript of the Four Gospels.
