He was a renowned Ethiopian scholar, lived in the mid-19th cent. until the first quarter of the 20th cent. He was the most respected scholar in the courts of both ʾaṣe Yoḥannǝs IV↗ and Mǝnilǝk↗ . He was an important participant at the Church Council at Boru Meda↗ in 1878.
