Hand 2
of codicological unit 2Script: Ethiopic
Second half of the 13th-/early 14th-century script.
Ink: Black (bleak), red.
Rubrication: Executed possibly by a different hand.
Date: 1250-1399
1250-1399 Regular, careful; by a good scribe. Small script, the line accomodates ca. 24-25 characters. The vowel marker of ስ is composed of a short line directed to the left, set up upon a vertical line but also the standard medieval shape is used. Hand 2 is probably older that Hand 1. Vocalization is not always that of standard Gǝʿǝz, in some (not many) words it is "odd". The Gǝʿǝz word for God is not used in the readable text of the fragment.Check for additional bibliography
