Condition
The upper board is almost detached from the bookblock, it is broken and the outer half is missing. The original sewing is lost and the the thread used for the repairing is weak. The first quire is disbound and fols. 1, 2 and 3 are detached from the bookblock. The book is stained with dirt and water. Many leaves are torn, with losses and damaged by insects and rodents.
Binding
Ethiopic bookbinding with plain wooden boards.
The boards are carved from a light brown wood. The outer surface shows the signs of the instrument used for carving. They have external bevels.Sewing Stations
3 Small holes are present close to the head and tail of the quires, prabably remains of the tackets. Quire 5 has a red thread passing through the hole close to the head, securing the joint between the bifolios.Binding material
