Original Location: Laqāy Kidāna Mǝḥrat↗
Main block is from mid-15th - mid-16th cent. (?) ff. 1 and 172-174, meant as endleaves, originate from a 15th-cent. Synaxarion. The miniature check the viewer11 also originate from a different, late 14th or 15th-cent. Ms. ff. 2-3 and check the viewer175-194 are of recent time (possibly 20th cent).Provenance
According to Additio 1, the owner is ʾabbā ʿAbiya ʾƎgziʾ (?). The name of the original donor, ʾAser (e.g. check the viewer85vb ), has been erased from many supplication formulas throughout Text I-4a. Instead, the name of Ḫāyla Śǝllāse and names of his family members (e.g., his father Gabra Māryām or his mother Sabana Giyorgis) were added in hand a. Ḫāyla Śǝllāse is also mentioned at the end of Text I-2.

Condition
The Ms. was probably resewn. The back board has been broken and repaired. The leather cover is torn off from the back board and the spine. The endleaves (fols. 1, 173, 174) originate from a different codex and were cut to the size of this Ms. ff. 2 and 3 are of different shape and were added later. check the viewer175-194 are loosely attached to the text block (between endleaves and backboard). Local parchment repair with small pieces of parchment on check the viewer9v , 10r. Holes or tears amended on check the viewer55 , 130.

Two wooden boards covered with reddish-brown tooled leather; textile inlays. Two pairs of sewing stations.
Binding decoration
Remains of endband stitches are visible on the spine fold of the quires. Quires I, VII and B are reinforced with parchment guards. The guard of quire B is made out of a folio originating from a different codex.

The donor ʾAmata ʾAb donor refers to her land donation to the church, which is given similarly to the land of Mǝkuʾāt Maret↗ given for the commemoration of ʾabuna ʾAbǝya ʾƎgziʾ owner by Queen(?) Ğan Mangǝśā during the reign of her father Dāwit (II) .
