Origin
Original Location: Kadiḥ Dabra Tawāḥǝdo Qǝddǝst Māryām↗
Yoḥannǝs is mentioned as the reigning monarch (Yoḥannǝs IV, r. 1872-89) in check the viewer16rb , 114rb. In check the viewer53vb , Yoḥannǝs is mentioned as the Patriarch of Alexandria; in check the viewer113va , ʾabbā Ṗeṭro(s) is mentioned as ሊቀ፡ ጳጳስነ፡ and ʾabbā Mātewos as ብፁዕ፡ ጳጳስነ (in check the viewer113rb , Matewos is referred to as ሊቀ፡ ጳጳስነ). The mention of Yoḥannǝs as Alexandrian Patriarch is difficult to account for. Ṗeṭros was Metropolitan of Ethiopia in 1881-1889. Mātewos was bishop of Šawā and adjacent territories at the same time. The mention of Mātewos with the title of ሊቀ፡ ጳጳስነ፡ renders more probable the later dating (Metropolitan after 1889).Provenance
Walatta ʾAnānyā is mentioned as the owner (s. Additiones 2 and 4). The notes also mention her husband Gabra Wāhǝd as well as her other relatives.
