Origin
The manuscript contains the names of Takla Giyorgis I , Yosāb II , and John XVIII (check the viewerfols. 179v, 180r ). (prosopography)
Provenance
The manuscript had very probably belonged to a church in the Gondar↗ area, from where it was taken by Tewodros II and brought to Madḫāne ʿĀlam↗ . It was then looted by the British Napier expedition in 1868.

In the colophon ( Colophon 1 , item 1 ), the scribe Takla Śǝllāse scribe states that he wrote the manuscript at the expense of Kidāna Māryām donor and his brother Walda ʾIyasus donor . The name of Walatta Hāymānot is also mentioned. The manuscript was written for ታቦተ፡ አማኑኤል, possibly to be identified with አማኑኤል፡↗ .
