Birth
He was born during the reign of King ʿAmda Ṣǝyon I .
Period of Activity
He was a saint and prominent member of the ʾEwosṭāteans who lived in the 14th and 15th century. He was the spiritual son of Bakimos of Dabra Ṣarābi , who was the pupil of ʾEwosṭātewos . He was the founder of the monastery of Dabra Bizan↗ in 1373/74, the strong hold of ʾEwosṭāteans . During his tenure as an abbot, the monastery of Dabra Bizan↗ became prosperous. Due to his refusal to renounce the teaching of the two Sabbaths, he was imprisoned in Dabra Ḥayq ʾƎsṭifānos↗ and set free in 1403/04. He was succeeded by ʾabbā Yoḥannǝs , the second abbot of Dabra Bizan↗ .
Death
He died at the age of 84.
