He was one of the series of puppets kings of ኢትዮጵያ↗ during the Zamana Masāfǝnt. After the death of his father ʾIyāsu II , he was confined to the royal prison Wahni ʾAmbā↗ . In 1788, rās rās role: title ʾAligāz of the Yaǧǧu Oromo dynasty, one of the kingmakers of the epoch, quarrelled with the king ʾaṣe role: title Takla Giyorgis . rās role: title ʾAligāz deposed ʾaṣe role: title Takla Giyorgis and put Ḥǝzqǝyās on the throne instead.
Death
Ḥǝzqǝyās finally ceased to be a significant figure. He was buried at Gondar↗ .
