He was a metropolitan of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church who succeeded ʾabuna Yoḥannǝs III↗ in 1770 and arrived in the reign of ʾaṣe role: title Takla Hāymānot II↗ , when rās role: title Mikāʾel Sǝḥul↗ was chief of Tǝgrāy↗ and the effective master of the Kingdom.

He died in 1803.
