Period of Activity
He was the metropolitan of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, consecrated by Cyril IV in 1889. He arrived to Ethiopia in 1881 together with the three other bishops: Mātewos , Luqās and Ṗeṭros IV requested by Emperor Yoḥannǝs IV . He was a bishop of Šawā↗ from 1881 to 1889. Following the death of Emperor Yoḥannǝs IV in 1889, when Mǝnilǝk II became Emperor he received permission from Coptic patriarch Cyril IV and he replaced ʾabuna Ṗeṭros IV as a metropolitan.
Death
He died on 20 October 1926.
