Period of Activity
A third-century martyr and undoubtedly an Egyptian saint who suffered martyrdom during the time of Patriarch St. Peter. He was a friend of the saints Serge and Bacchus, and predicted their martyrdom death. Charged by Emperor Maximian to close churches throughout Egypt and to open temples, he did the opposite. His body was brought back to Clysma by the Christians of this city, headed by Bishop Julian. His Passion exists in Greek, Georgian, and Arabic.
