He was born at Hirna↗ in 1915.
Period of Activity
He was a novelist, play writer and a prominent member of the government. His father baǧǝrond role: title ↗ instilled in him the values of discipline, hard work and patriotism. He was fluent in French, received his Bachelor degree in 1935. When Italy↗ occupied Ethiopia↗ , in 1935 he fled to Djibouti↗ . In early 1937, he decided to return to ʾAddis ʾAbabā↗ and was soon arrested together with many other educated Ethiopians, following the attempt on Rodolfo Graziani↗ . Then, he was sent to Italy↗ and spent six years in prison. After liberation, he served the imperial government in various posts until the revolution, in 1974.
