20th-21st century. Mamhǝr Dǝggu, a celebrated Scholar of the andemta, was born in Bure Dega Damot awrajja and studied in different traditional schools in the region. He is especialized in the Andǝmta of the Old Testament. As of 2011 he was teaching in Addet, a small town south of Bahir Dar↗ .
