ዮሐንስ፡ Yoḥannǝs III ʾAbuna role: title
Period of Activity
He was a metropolitan of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church who was consecrated by the Coptic Patriarch John XVII and succeeded ʾabuna Krǝstodolu III in 1744. He was a contemporary of ʾaṣe ʾIyāsu II and ʾaṣe ʾIyoʾas I . He was succeeded eight years later by ʾabuna Yosāb II in 1770.
Death
He died on 15 November 1761 and was buried at ʾAṣṣāṣāme Qǝddus Mikāʾel↗ .
