Colophon mentioning the scribe, Gäbrä Ḥäna, the owner Wayzäro Zǝnaš Bǝzu, wife of Aläqa Dästa, her baptismal name is Ṣǝge Ḥäna. [Her husband’s] baptismal name is Wäldä Giyorgis. Written in the city of Gurǝy, city of King of Kings Mǝnilǝk of Ethiopia, in the year of John [the Evangelist]. Completed in 1904, month of Ḫǝdar, in the fourth night and in the first day. In pencil, in column two, is a note of secondary ownership, This Dawit belongs to Manaläbǝši Dästa, given to her by her mother, Ṣǝge Ḥäna. The note is written in 1931 E.C.

The text block is trimmed with a cutting machine. The pastedowns are neatly trimmed and very fine fabric is visible in the area between the pastedowns on both front and back inside covers. The headband and tailband appear to be two-toned. All of these characteristics, and especially the harags, indicate that the book was produced in the government scriptorium of Emperor Mǝnilǝk
