Binding
Parchment, 220 x 160 x 35 mm, two heavy paste boards covered in linen and then covered in tooled, red leather. The quires are stitched together along four points in a chain stitch. However, the stitching does not attach to the board, as is usual in Ethiopic bindings. Instead, the cover appears to be a modified Islamic binding. The cover was made off the book without the envelope flap usual on Islamic bindings before 1700. The spine inside the case is covered in linen. The case was adhered to the book block with hinge linings. It has neither head nor tail bands.
