Antoine d’Abbadie dans son 516 fait la remarque suivante: «Ces trois voix du verbe አተረ፡ , ታተረ፡ , አሳተረ፡ , sont données par J. d’Urbin pour traduire ረመየ፡ , ተረምየ፡ , አርመየ፡ , dont la signification la plus connue est ‘blesser’ et non ‘cicatriser’. ርምየት፡ est traduit ensuite par የሻረ፡ ቍስል፡ ». Juste d’Urbin n’a pas dû faire un tel contresens. Peut-être a-t-il donné au mot «cicatrice» le sens de: «marque de blessure non fermée».
