Provenance
The name of the first owner was Fǝśśǝḥa Ṣǝyon owner , son of ʾAnorewos , for whose name have been substituted those of Walda ʾAragāwi and Walda ʾAragāwi .
. The manuscript had very probably belonged to a church in the Gondar↗ area, from where it was taken by Tewodros II and brought to Madḫāne ʿĀlam↗ . It was then looted by the British Napier expedition in 1868. The manuscript was then sent to the Royal Library at Windsor and presented by Victoria II to the British Library↗ on the 21st January 1869.Secondary Bibliography

( geez ) ቅፍጻሜሁሰ፡ ኮነ፡ ፪ለወርኃ፡ ታስሪን፡ ቀዳማይ፡ በሐሳቦሙ፡ ለዕብራዊያን፡ ወበግዕዝ፡ አመ፡ ፬ለጥቅምት፡ በሐሳበ፡ ፀሐይ፡ ወበሳልስ፡ ኆኅት፡ በጊዜ፡ ግብአቱ፡ እምራ ብዕ፡ በ፱ዓውደ፡ ቀመር፡ በ፩ጥንትዮን፡ ወበ፱ ዓውደ፡ ዕለት። በ፱አበቅቴ፡ በካልእ፡ ዓምተ፡ መንግሥቱ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ንጉሠ፡ አግዓዜ፡ ወልደ፡ ናዖድ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ርቱዓ፡ ሃይማኖት፡ በዕለተ፡ ሰኑይ፡ በ፲ሰዓት፡ ዘመዓልት፡ አመ፡ ከርመ፡ በምድረ፡ አዘዞ።↗

check the viewerFol. 187r Embedded colophon of the translation (CAe 4006 coloph1) ተተርጐመት፡ ዛቲ፡ መጽፍ፡ አምዓረቢ፡ ወእስከ፡ ግዕዝ፡ በ፱ዓመተ፡ መንግሥቱ፡ ለንጉሥነ፡ ፋሲለደስ፡ ዘተሰምየ፡ ቈስጥንጢኖስ። ፷፻ወ፱፻ወ፹ዓመተ፡ ምሕረት፡ ጥንትዮን፡ ፪አበቅቴ፡ ፯ወበ፲፻ወ፪፻ወ፬አምዓመተ፡ ሰማዕታት፡ ወዘአጽሐፋ፡ ፍሥሓ፡ ጽዮን። The copied colophon of translation gives the date of translation, 9th year of the reign of Fāsiladas or Constantine, 6980 Ethiopian Calendar, i.e. 1487-1488 . There is some mistake here as Fāsiladas ' s reign only started in 1632. The reference is probably to Emperor ʾƎskǝndǝr , or Constantine, who began to reign in November 1478.
