Provenance
The manuscript had very probably belonged to a church in the Gondar↗ area, from where it was taken by Tewodros II and brought to Madḫāne ʿĀlam↗ . It was then looted by the British Napier expedition in 1868.

ነዋ፡ አዘዝነ፡ ንሕነ፡ አእላፍ፡ ሰገድ፡ ወአእላፍ፡ ሞገሳ፡ ወበጸጋ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘተሰመይነ፡ ዮሐንስሃ፡ ወሰብለ፡ ወንጌል፡ ያውግዙ፡ እንበይነ፡ ዛቲ፡ መጽሐፍነ። ዘአጽሐፍናሃ፡ ንሕነ፡ በዘመነ፡ መንግሥትነ፡ ለበቍዔተ፡ ነፍስነ። ከመ፡ ኢያውፅኣ፡ እምበተ፡ ውሉድነ፡ ዘወለድናሆሙ፡ በሥጋ። መኑሂ፡ እምሰብእ፡ እመሂ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ወእመሂ፡ መኰንን። እመንገለ፡ ትዕግልት፡ ወተኃይሎ፡ አው፡ ሠራቂ፡ እኩየ፡ ምግባር፡ ዘይጸልእ፡ ብርሃነ፡ ወያፈቅር፡ ጽልመተ። ወአውገዙ፡ በሥልጣነ፡ አብ፡ ወወልድ፡ ወመንፈስ፡ ቅዱስ። ብፁዕ፡ ወክቡር፡ ጳጳስነ፡ አባ፡ ወአባ፡ ህርያቆስ፡ መምህር፡ ዘደብረ፡ ሊባኖስ። ወዘታሕቴሆሙ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ መምህራነ፡ ቤተ፡ ክርስቲያን፡ ዘአድባራት። በከመ፡ ዝኩ፡ ቃለ፡ ነገርነ፡ ዘዘከርነ፡ ቅድመ።
The note asserts that the MS was written for Yoḥannǝs I and his queen Sabla Wangel (who began to reign at the close of 1667).

The year 7157 of the subscription corresponds with AD 1664/1665, but the 34th year of the reign of Fāsiladas (whose name has been erased) was AD 1667. The MS seems therefore to have been written in 1667/1668.Additions In this unit there are in total 1 .
