Fragment of a letter in Amharic written by Tasfā Māryām of ʿAddi Ḵwala↗ to Alberto Pollera , District Commissioner of Sarāye↗ . The letter is dated the 24th of Yakkātit , but the year is not indicated. The letter, of which only the conventional formulae of greeting at the beginning and end are preserved, is written in Amharic (intead of Tigrinya, the writer's native tongue), probably for the benefit of the addressee.
