Origin and provenance of the manuscript are unknown. speculates that it might have been brought from Ethiopia↗ to Jerusalem↗ by Giovanni Battista Brocchi da Imola after 1484–1485 .
Acquisition
The manuscript was already part of the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana’s collection by 1487, at which date Giovanni Battista Brocchi da Imola (this person may or may not be identical with the person who might have brought the manuscript from Ethiopia) borrowed it for a duration of five years. According to , this makes it the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana’s longest-held Ethiopic manuscript.
